Our "happy place"...Together painting is the BEST PLACE to be!
Painting with Amelie...
This is our happy place...getting our hands messy in the paint, mixing colors without any rules! We watch together in complete amazement as colors mix, images transform and then disappear as more layers of colors are applied with dancing fingers and fascinating tools (sticks, combs, rocks). Painting with my grand-daughter has opened my eyes to see into her world all the beauty God Created for us. It's with child-like wonder I see Creation as if for the first time.
We're told in Scripture to have "child-like faith" and there is good reason. Children know how to believe with complete abandonment, no doubts. I want that kind of faith and I'm learning to be child-like again.
It's truly freeing.

The finished painting of "Amelie's World"...
As my grand-daughter played and painted on her canvas I began to see her beautiful world appear right in front of me. You will see flowers, a princess crown (she IS God's daughter!), her precious handprints, exclamations of excitement and adventure, a cross because she knows Jesus is her friend and lives in her heart, a ladybug, a heart-shaped earth, bubbles, "make a wish" thistle, and colors that are beyond description because of their beautiful uniqueness. And of course you can see the butterfly!
I know painting with Amelie will be a precious tradition that she and I will share forever. These creations we make together are treasures that will forever hang in the gallery of my heart. I love you Amelie Rose!
